A little about our ELA programIn 3rd grade,
Language Arts Textbook: Sadlier Common Core Progress English Language Arts I. Reading: Literature Circle & Independent Reading Students will study using skills and strategies for comprehending both fictional and non-fictional texts. They will work on developing deeper comprehension by asking questions, predicting, analyzing, inferring, and making connections. This practice will also continue to build students’ phonetic skills, vocabulary, and fluency. II. Writing: Writer's Workshop Students will use the writer’s workshop approach to writing. Writer's Workshop involves a cycle of steps students take from thinking of an idea to publishing their final draft. Their writing will focus on:
